This week's photo pays tribute to the second highest grossing movie of all-time, Titanic, which happens to be in theatres this week but this time in 3-D (so James Cameron can take even more of your money and then use it to explore the Ocean floor or whatever the fuck he's doing these days). Although Titanic has some plot flaws, the major one being that both Rose and Jack (Kate and Leo) could have fit on the wooden board at the end of the movie and yet for some reason didn't even attempt to, the movie is still very enjoyable and one that I can say I like. Even though I earlier made a joke (probably a little true) about Jim, I will still probably end up going to the movies to watch Titanic in 3D to see how it looks with the added dimension (Cameron has really been the only filmmaker to use 3D in enhancing his movies), to hear Celine sing that song again, to relive my first experience watching it and most importantly to sit there and wonder how Billy Zane got a major role in one of the biggest movies of all time. And also because Jim needs money to make

Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles
Almost every guy has watched White Chicks, and the scene with Terry Crews is singing A Thousand Miles is one of the best scenes in the movie. The song itself is pretty good, and it sounds like a typical American Pie song (all of which are very nostalgic). It may be a song for girls, but A Thousand Miles is still fun to listen to even if you are a guy (who the hells cares, Terry Crews likes it).
John Tesh - 'NBA on NBC' Theme
I know this isn’t a “song”, but when a theme is this good, I can’t pass on writing about it. Anyone who used to watch the NBA back in the early 2000s will definitely remember this theme, before the NBA Finals began being broadcasted on ABC. There hasn’t been an NBA theme that’s come even close to sounding like NBA on NBC, and hopefully we’ll hear it again someday.
50 Cent - Many Men
I realized we hadn’t mentioned any 50 Cent songs, and that’s not acceptable given the quality of Get Rich or Die Tryin’. As I was deciding which song to pick, I thought back to the very first 50 song I heard, and it’s arguably his best. Many Men is the definition of a great rap song, and it demonstrates 50’s abilities (or at least his past abilities).

Backstreet Boys ft. The Clipse - The Call (Remix)
No you did not just read that wrong. The Backstreet Boys actually did a song with The Clipse. You know Pusha T and Malice, the hip-hop duo that rapped alongside with Birdman in 'What Happened to That Boy' then turned around and did a song with BSB. The best part? It's produced by The Neptunes. You can't make this stuff up. As for the actual song, it's very catchy (as all boy-band music is) and great to listen to. It's basically about a guy cheating on his girl and using his phone's dying battery as cover (that can't fail...). Extremely weird pairing of sounds but it comes out sounding great. Also how many times do you think Pusha T and Malice chilled with BSB? My guess is less than zero.
Enrique Iglesias - Escape
My second song is this classic (used very loosely here) from 2001. It's a typical Enrique song with a latin-pop vibe and easy to sing lyrics. The video also gets added recognition for making guys everywhere hit puberty while becoming women's tennis fans (see Anna Kournikova) simultaneously. One last thing, with the recent boy-band boom, don't you think that there's space in the music business for another Latin singer with a mysteriously appearing and disappearing mole to come and start making hits the way Enrique did in the early 00's? I think so.
Nelly ft Tim McGraw - Over And Over
I'm going to close the week with another strange pairing that worked out. This surprise hit from 2004 had people confused as to why they were liking it since it featured Nelly (now band-aid-less) and Tim McGraw over a soft and slow country-infused hip-hop beat. Yet it somehow became a huge hit for the duo and with reason as it is an easy song to listen to with simple but effective lyrics. Also, i love how the video shows us not one, but two stereotypes (the black man and the country guy) living their average day. Good stuff.
Until Next week (we'll hopefully post it earlier)
