Game of Thrones Season 2 Episode 6 - "The Old Gods and the New"

If you plan to watch this episode, do not read the following article until you have watched it. Ok realistically I can’t stop you, but there are SPOILERS below. You have been warned.

As I said 3 episodes ago, Theon Greyjoy is a douche. In this episode he takes over Winterfell as he planned to, but without his sister and with few men. Bran obviously tells his people he’s yielding, since most of their men are south and Bran can’t do much (I mean he is a crippled boy). Theon doesn’t stop here and he decides to execute Ser Rodrik, which is completely idiotic. With Theon’s actions, Robb (arguably the best leader in terms of battles) wants to find him and kill him. Roose Bolton explains that his son can do that for him, since Robb can’t leave the war for King’s Landing. Theon has absolutely no way of surviving for long. He doesn’t seem good with fighting, he doesn’t have many people backing him up (even the people of Pyke laugh at him), and he seem to have gone insane (especially while executing Rodrik). This isn’t exactly the formula for success during a battle. I also don’t think his sister will send the troops he asked her to send, because the rest of his family seems to have little respect for him. I mean who should have respect for him? He’s almost as hated as Joffrey in my books. These series of events confirm Bran’s ability to see the future in his dreams, as the sea (Theon’s people from the sea) flooded the castle and Rodrik was one of the people who drowned. One character that gained a lot of respect from me this episode is Osha. She sleeps with Theon to distract him and sneaks out while Bran, his little brother and Luwin (giant) get ready to leave. A guard comes in her way but she seduces him and cuts his neck. She whistles to the trio plus the two wolves that the coast is clear for them to escape. She definitely cares for Bran and offers to help him in these terrible times for Winterfell. The biggest problem now is…there are no Starks in Winterfell.
